Your Right to Data Deletion

At Cheevo, we respect your right to privacy and control over your personal data. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your account information (email, credentials, profile)
  • All lessons you’ve created
  • All vocabulary cards and flashcard review history
  • All chat messages with the AI tutor
  • All audio recordings and cached TTS data
  • All analytics data associated with your account
⚠️ This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep before proceeding.

Subscriptions

If you have an active subscription, here’s what happens when you delete your account:

Web (Stripe) subscriptions: Your subscription will be cancelled immediately when you delete your account. You will not be charged again.

App Store subscriptions (iOS): We cannot cancel App Store subscriptions on your behalf. You must cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings before deleting your account, or you will continue to be charged. To cancel: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Cheevo.

Play Store subscriptions (Android): We cannot cancel Play Store subscriptions on your behalf. You must cancel your subscription in Google Play before deleting your account, or you will continue to be charged. To cancel: Google Play → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cheevo.

⚠️ If you delete your account without cancelling your App Store or Play Store subscription, you will continue to be billed by Apple or Google.

How to Delete Your Account

To delete your account, sign in and visit your profile page. Use the “Delete Account” button at the bottom of the page to permanently remove your account and all associated data.

Alternative Options

If you’re not ready to delete your account permanently, consider these alternatives:

  • Delete specific lessons: You can delete individual lessons from your lessons page while keeping your account active
  • Delete specific vocabulary cards: Remove individual flashcards from your vocabulary without deleting your entire account
  • Take a break: You can simply stop using Cheevo and return whenever you’re ready — your data will remain private and secure

Data Deletion Timeline

When you delete your account:

  1. Immediate deletion from our primary database
  2. Removal from active backup systems within 30 days
  3. Complete removal from all backup archives within 90 days

Note that some data may persist in third-party services (Google, OpenAI, PostHog, RevenueCat, Stripe) according to their respective retention policies. We request deletion of your data from RevenueCat when you delete your account. Please refer to their privacy policies for more information.
