1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Cheevo (“we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

Cheevo is an AI-powered language learning platform that provides:

  • Conversational AI tutoring in foreign languages
  • Vocabulary flashcard creation and spaced repetition review
  • Voice recording, pronunciation practice, and text-to-speech
  • Interactive learning widgets and exercises

Our service is available via web browser and as a native mobile application on iOS and Android.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Cheevo.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

Cheevo offers limited free access. Free accounts are subject to weekly message limits.

Paid Subscriptions

Paid plans unlock higher message limits and are billed monthly on a recurring basis.

  • Web subscriptions are processed through Stripe. You may cancel at any time from your profile page, and your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
  • iOS subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store. You may cancel at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Apple’s terms and refund policies apply.
  • Android subscriptions are processed through Google Play. You may cancel at any time in your Google Play subscription settings. Google’s terms and refund policies apply.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. You will be notified in advance of any price changes, and changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Cheevo for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit AI systems
  • Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the service
  • Resell or redistribute access to the service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. AI-Generated Content

Cheevo uses artificial intelligence to generate educational content, translations, and feedback. While we strive for accuracy:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • Content is provided for educational purposes only and should not be relied upon for professional translation or interpretation
  • We continuously improve our AI systems but do not guarantee perfection

7. Intellectual Property

Our Content

The Cheevo platform, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create (voice recordings, lesson topics). By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process your content as needed to provide the service. We do not use your personal content to train our own AI models. Your content may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as Google and OpenAI) for processing; their respective privacy policies govern how they handle such data.

8. Privacy

Your use of Cheevo is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed as described in our Data Deletion policy. If you have an active App Store or Play Store subscription, you must cancel it separately in your device settings.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Cheevo is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cheevo and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich, Switzerland.
